CESAR

The CESAR project is a national, multicenter, retrospective-prospective, observational, non-interventional study of patients with severe asthma. Data collection will take place in designated centers for the treatment of severe asthma.

The primary objective is to epidemiologically capture the population of patients with severe refractory asthma on permanent corticosteroid and/or biological asthma treatment. Patients who are monitored by centers for severe asthma in the Czech Republic associated in the activity of the National Center for Severe Asthma will be included.

Secondary Objectives:

  • tracking the direct and indirect costs of treating severe refractory asthma
  • monitoring the effectiveness of new treatment procedures – biological treatment of severe asthma, bronchial thermoplasty
  • monitoring the development of quality of life, lung functions and the difficulty of treatment over time
  • monitoring the occurrence of associated diseases complicating the course of severe refractory asthma
