REPACE – Registry of pacemakers

A central registry dealing with the implantation of pacemakers.

start of the project: 12/2009

Implantation of a cardiac pacemaker is the basic therapeutic procedure in patients whose heart rate is too low, which could lead to an insufficient blood transport with respect to the body's needs, or increase the risk of cardiac arrest. Indications for the implantation of a cardiac pacemaker are summarized in the Guidelines for implantation of cardiac pacemakers, implantable cardioverters-defibrillators (ICD) and cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) systems.

Project objectives:

  • The REPACE project creates a central registry for a systematic collection of data on cardiac pacemaker implantations. The aim of the registry is to facilitate the collection of data on this issue and to perform its analytical and statistical assessment.
